If you know me at all, you’ll probably know I’m very guilty of binge watching TV shows. Don’t hear from me for a few days? I’m probably hiding under a blanket with a mountain of food and watching something on Netflix. I highly doubt I’m the only one that does this, so I’ve come up with a list of recommendations for your next antisocial binge watch.
If you’re not sure what to watch next, you can’t go wrong with any of these. Just make sure you grab some snacks first! You probably won’t be moving for a while…
1) Friends – 10 seasons
Where to watch? Netflix
I doubt I even have to mention this. Friends has been a classic binge watch of mine for years and with it’s recent addition to UK Netflix, I think we’ve all jumped back on the Friends train!
2) Elementary – 5 seasons
Where to watch? Good question, definitely no illegal streaming involved here…
Elementary is the perfect modern depiction of Sherlock. The amusing, charming and always witty Holmes along with his sidekick Watson make for a very entertaining watch. I’m definitely guilty of spending way too much time doing absolutely nothing but watching this!
3) The Office (US) – 9 seasons
Where to watch? Amazon Prime
I don’t know what I can say other than The Office is probably the best thing I’ve ever watched. You can’t help but fall in love with every single character. I’m trying to keep this list to 10 so I’m sneaking in Parks and Rec here too. Made by the same producers as The Office, this is another show you don’t want to miss. I think we all need a Leslie Knope in our lives.
4) Suits – 7 Seasons
Where to watch? Netflix
If I said this show wasn’t the reason I decided to do a law degree, I’d be lying… So thanks to Harvey, Donna, Lewis and Mike but this law degree definitely isn’t as fun as your fancy law firm in New York.
5) The Walking Dead – 8 seasons
Where to watch? Amazon Prime
If you need some ideas of what to do and what not to do in the event of an apocalypse, this is the show for you. In all honesty I’m not loving the newest season, but you’ve got lots to catch up on before then!
6) Greys Anatomy – 14 seasons
Where to watch? If you’ve got Virgin, they’ve got you sorted!
This is what I’m currently binge watching. I’ve been patiently (impatiently) waiting for new episodes, but the lovely Claire told me she was watching from the very start and I decided to follow suit. I’ve watched the whole series several times and it never gets any less emotionally traumatic. If you’ve never seen Greys before, grab a big box of tissues and prepare for the biggest emotional rollercoaster of your life.
7) How I Met Your Mother – 9 seasons
Where to watch? Netflix
Much like Friends, HIMYM is definitely another classic to binge watch. I definitely laughed and cried all the way through. Before long you’ll feel like you know Ted Mosby just as well as his friends do.
8) Man in the High Castle – 2 seasons
Where to watch? Amazon Prime
Set in 1962, this show explores what America would be like had Japan and Germany won in World War II. It’s such an interesting concept for a TV show and it’s definitely worth a watch. It’s hard not to get invested in the storyline, hence why it’s definitely something you binge watch.
9) Orange is the New Black – 5 seasons
Where to watch? Netflix
Welcome to Litchfield Penitentiary, the home of badass women. OITNB is funny, heartwarming and a little bit dark all rolled into one. I think it goes without saying, but I definitely wouldn’t last a day in Litchfield!
10) Gilmore Girls – 7 seasons
Where to watch? Netflix
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched Gilmore Girls, but it never gets old for me. Lorelai and Rory are the most entertaining mother daughter duo. I would quite happily move to Stars Hollow tomorrow and join in on their antics if I could!
What’s your favourite thing to binge watch? Let me know.
P.S. No idea how I managed to completely forget about House until now, but I feel like I need to mention it. If you’ve not seen House, close this page immediately and change that. If you love Greys Anatomy, you’ll love House too. You definitely can’t go wrong with a little bit of Hugh Laurie in your life!
Need an idea for a nice drink to go along with your snacks? I created some yummy mocktails (that would also taste great with gin or vodka…) find the recipes here.
This list is basically my own top 10 list, such similar taste! I would also add in Riverdale, as well as this new series called “Young Sheldon” based from the show The Big Bang!
I’ve been watching Riverdale too! I have watched The Big Bang in the past but never really got that into it tbh x
Hands up I don’t think I’ve watched any of these all the way through, I sort of gave up on a few including The Walking Dead. Right now we are binging our way through Lucifer.
Well, it looks like I have my work cut out for me. I do love The Office.
Netflix have a great series called ‘The Sinner’ only 8 episodes and definitely binge worthy! It’s an amazing storyline you should give it a watch!
We love Netflix! You have so many great ones on here. We just finished watching Friends. It was so fun to go back and rewatch them all. I wish they would remake that show!
I second Friends and Gilmore Girls! Those shows top my list of shows to watch. I can’t wait to renew my Netflix subscription.
I miss watching The Office so much! I hope they really are coming out with a reboot pretty soon!
YES to so many of these! Although I’m so over Friends, my boyfriend watches it on repeat. But I guess he probably feels the same way about Grey’s Anatomy because I’ve watched it like 27 times haha. Same with Gilmore Girls.
There is a lot on this list that I have not watched. I have never watched Greys Anatomy if you can believe that. I know everyone loves that one!
A great list, I haven’t seen many on here so lots of ideas for me to get some binge watching done! Thanks for sharing 🙂
How I Met Your Mother is my favorite show but they took it off Netflix recently! I need to try the other shows, because I’m going through withdrawls.
I would absolutely recommend RuPaul’s Drag Race to this list.
Some great shows there. I have just finished Nightflyers and that is epic. Very SciFi horror with a bit of interstellar thrown in. Diablero is a great foreign language fantasy which is work a watch if you are in to your angels and demons.

There’s so many great suggestions here! I’m watching Suits among other things at the moment such as The Good Place and I’m always waiting for a new Grey’s episode to be released. If you have NowTV you can watch greys on there, season 15 is on there too. The After Life is also a great watch, it’s based around grief but it’s done with humour in the right places but also hits hard as an honest perception of grief – just be prepared to cry!
