Living in Scotland, we get a lot of rainy days. I love the rain, so I really don’t mind grabbing an umbrella and heading out. Okay, I never actually remember to take an umbrella, but it’s the thought that counts, right?
If you’re struggling with what to do on a rainy day, then here is a short list of my favourite things to do!
Visit a museum
You might not be up for walking around in the rain, but you can still get out of the house by visiting a museum. If you’re local, Kelvingrove Gallery and Art Museum is one of my favourites to visit. Their exhibitions are always really cool!
Cosy up in bed
Nothing is better than hopping into bed with a good book and a cup of tea. I’m currently reading two books – the lovely Dodie’s book and Tears of the Giraffe which is part of the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series. One of my goals for 2018 was to read more and I’m doing pretty well so far. It’s nice to take a little internet break, she says as she sits on the internet writing this post…
Visit a local cafe
I love sitting in a nice cafe with a coffee in my hand, especially when you can watch the rain pour down outside. The gorgeous Market is just round the corner from us, so you’ll often find me in there!
Netflix
If we’re being honest, this is part of my daily routine. Rainy days are no exception to this! If you’re going all out… bring your duvet into the living room, grab some snacks and a hot chocolate too. If you’re looking for something new to watch, I recently posted about my top 10 TV shows to binge watch.
Have a bath
You can’t go wrong with a bath on a cold, rainy day. If you’ve got a nice Lush bath bomb to pop in then that’s even better! I’m still using up all the ones I got at Christmas time, and they smell soooo good.
Embrace the rain
That might sound silly, but sometimes it’s actually kinda fun to just embrace the rain and get soaked. If you’re feeling adventurous, put on a big jacket and head out there! We live very close to Queens Park and it’s perfect for long walks. It’s pretty rainy here today, so I think we’ll head there soon. Maybe a trip to Market too…
Thank you so much for reading and I hope this has given you a little bit of inspiration for your next rainy day!
