Cruelty Free Summer Essentials

cruelty free summer essentials

I may not have a holiday booked, but it’s feeling a lot like summer in Scotland! Throughout the summer, all I’m looking for is glowy, hydrated and non-sunburnt skin… Some of these beauty products I’ve been using for years whereas others are quite new to me, however they’re all perfect for summer.

As far as I’m aware, all products mentioned are cruelty free, but do let me know if I’m wrong. Here are my cruelty free summer essentials…

cruelty free summer essentials

Superdrug Radiance Balm

This is my go-to daytime moisturiser. It’s really hydrating and leaves your skin looking healthy and bright. The whole Superdrug Radiance range is cruelty free and very affordable – if you’re trying to go CF on a budget, I couldn’t recommend them enough!

The Body Shop Skin Defence

It’s so important to make sure you’re using an SPF all year round, but it’s even more important in summer. The Body Shop’s Skin Defence is SPF 50 and has been a firm favourite of mine since I discovered it at the beginning of this year. It doesn’t break me out, leaves no white residue and leaves my skin feeling very soft!

Lush Silky Underwear

If you’re suffering from chub rub this summer then this product could be your saving grace. It moisturises your legs whilst making sure they don’t get too sweaty. I can’t say it’s stopped my chub rub completely, but it has really helped. I take it in my bag with me and top up anytime I go to the toilet.

Lush Jackie Oates Colour Supplement

I try to avoid wearing foundation in summer, but I do like mixing a little bit of this into my moisturiser. It doesn’t have much coverage, but it helps to cancel out a bit of redness! Lush offers a few different shades of this – just be sure to check the expiry date on the bottom before purchasing as it doesn’t last forever!

The Body Shop Face Mist

As I mentioned in my last post, I have been taking one of these with me wherever I go! They keep your skin feeling hydrated and refreshed throughout the day.

Bleach London Eyeshadow

Until a few weeks ago, I had no idea Bleach London sold make up products! All of their make up is vegan and cruelty free, so when I saw the price of their eyeshadows I couldn’t resist picking up a few. They’re £3 a shadow and are extremely pigmented.

Barry M Liquid Chrome

I love looking glowy all year round, but I kinda take it to another level in summer and this product is perfect for that! You can mix it into your base product or you can use it on top as a normal highlighter – obviously I’ve been doing both… I’d say this product is very similar to the Iconic London drops, but Barry M has a much lower price tag!

NYX Dewy Finish Face Spray

I’ve been using this for months now, and I’ve almost ran out. I genuinely notice a big difference in my make up when I don’t use it. I’m not really a setting powder kinda gal, but this setting spray is great for making sure your make up lasts.

Yes To Coconut Oil Stick

You may or may not know that I love coconut oil, and I have about a million uses for it. So when Yes To came out with a coconut oil stick, I was a bit sceptical. Why would I use this instead of the real thing? I actually really like it – it’s much more compact then a big jar of coconut oil so is perfect for travelling!

Lush Sun Solid Perfume

This is the perfect summer scent. This is the first solid perfume I’ve tried, and it’s so handy! I keep it in my bag to top up my scent throughout the day. A lovely lady in Lush also told me you can rub a little bit in your hair. It’s alcohol free, so it won’t dry your hair out!

And that’s a wrap! What are some beauty products you’ve been reaching for this summer? Let me know in the comments.

If you’re not already following me on Instagram, head on over! I’m much more active on there.

I’ve not heard of the perfume scent from Lush before. Will definitely check it out. I’ve also added the skin defence from TBS, as that just seems great especially since it’s SPF 50. Love that they’re cruelty free too.
