Whether it’s decorating the tree, eating a bit too much at the Christmas markets or simply watching a Christmas movie with a big cup of tea, the lead up to Christmas is definitely my favourite time of year. Although it’s not quite as magical when you have exams throughout the first half of December, but I’ll just keep pretending that’s not the reality for now. I’m always on the look out for a nice tea in winter, so when T2 invited me along to try out their new Christmas range I couldn’t wait.
T2 are an Australian company and have created over 200 unique teas since opening in 1996. Over the last 20 years, they’ve expanded globally – now shipping internationally and having stores in the UK and Singapore too. Luckily for me, Scotland’s only T2 store is found right in the centre of Glasgow on Buchanan Street.
T2 pride themselves in being different from your average tea company, and I have to say I was impressed. The focus of the event was on the new range Joy 2 the Wild, celebrating Christmas with a twist. Although it does involve some of the traditional Christmas festivity, the range is heavily inspired by the patterns and flavours found in nature.
The store was laid out with gorgeous displays of fine china, loose leaf teas for you to smell, and of course some freshly brewed tea to sample. The store felt so warm and inviting! When I arrived, there was lots of mince pies and a gin cocktail infused with T2’s Mulled Wine tea. It doesn’t get much better than that, does it?
At the event, we were all kindly gifted an item from the Christmas range. I chose the “Wild About Green Rose” set which you can see above. Inside the beautifully designed box is a fine boned china cup and saucer, a loose leaf flavoured green tea and a matching mesh ball infuser. However, I couldn’t leave with just that. I also purchased a tin of their “Mulled Wine Magic” and “Choc Molten Marvel” after sampling them both.
Mulled Wine Magic has quickly become my favourite tea. I’m not sure how, but I’ve almost finished the tin… Well I do know how – I’ve been having several cups a day. It is a limited edition collection, so I’ll definitely be popping in store before the festive season is up. Choc Molten Marvel is also great if you fancy something sweet. Paired with a splash of soya milk and a squeeze of honey, it’s like a much lighter hot chocolate.
If you’re looking to buy the perfect gift for the tea lovers in your life, definitely consider T2. Joining their Tea Society means they’ll gift wrap your items for free which is such a nice touch. Visit T2’s website to learn about other perks of the Tea Society and to view the whole Christmas range. I’ve really enjoyed exploring their website, and I’m sure you will too!
If gin is more your cup of tea, make sure you’ve not missed out on my last post here.
As always, thanks for reading!
