Although it may not officially be summer yet, yesterday’s spontaneous trip to the beach felt a lot like summer to me. I’ve finally finished my second year of uni and I’m feeling pretty smug about it. I don’t have any concrete plans for summer, but there are a few things I’m looking forward to over the next few months.
1. MY BIRTHDAY
This girl will finally be turning 20 on June 15th. Honestly I don’t normally get too excited for my birthday, but I’m really looking forward to this one! Lewis and I are planning to take a little trip over to the Isle of Arran. I’ve been a couple times when I was younger, but I’m really excited to go back as an adult and explore a bit more.
2. FOCUSING ON MY BLOG
No uni work means that my blog can be the priority this summer, and I’m so happy about that! Starting this blog was probably the best thing I’ve ever done, and I’m looking forward to having time to really focus on it. I’m hoping I can come up with some great content and post a bit more frequently.
3. HAVING TIME TO READ
I love to read, but during exam season the last thing I wanted to do after a long day of studying was read. Now that exams are over, I have a feeling I’ll be turning into a big bookworm for the summer. I’ve finally got around to finishing Eleanor Oliphant, and I loved it! On that note, if you do have any book recommendations for me please leave them in the comments. I’m in desperate need of another good book.
4. A LITTLE HOLIDAY?
We haven’t booked anything yet, leaving it to the last minute as always, but I’m hoping we can still manage to go somewhere for a little break. I may or may not have lost my passport though, so I guess I better get that sorted first… Oops!
5. EXPLORING GLASGOW
Despite living here for almost 2 years now and frequently being here as a child, I feel like there’s still lots of Glasgow that I haven’t seen. Since we don’t have any set holiday plans, I’m definitely going to make sure I take advantage of living in such a great city. To start that off, I visited Linn Park the other day and went for a big walk. I didn’t expect to find this nice little waterfall less than 2 miles from my house!
What are you looking forward to this summer? Let me know in the comments below!
Are you following me over on Instagram? I’ve set myself a little goal to reach 1k by my birthday next month!
Sounds like a good summer. Can I recommend Salt to the Sea by Ruta Septys for one of your summer reads. All the chapters are really short (only a couple of pages each) so it makes its a quick read but it also has a lot of impact.
Thanks so much for the recommendation! I’ll definitely add it to my list. Hope you have a nice summer planned!
