2018 Goals

Since the holidays are now officially over (how did they go so fast?), I decided it’s time to set some goals for 2018. I struggled to think of many off the top of my head, but I think I’ve managed to come up with a list of relatively realistic goals.

Read more – I used to be the biggest bookworm. I genuinely took more books than clothes on holiday. In recent years, I seem to be reading less and less. It’s probably due to the increasing workload of school/uni, but I really do want to get back into reading. I miss it! My goal for 2018 is to read at least one book every month.

Live more ethically – In 2018 I want to make a more conscious effort to make ethical choices. I think there’s lots of little changes I could make that would really make a difference. Whether it’s trying to recycle more or remembering to take my KeepCup with me, I really want to reduce my waste. As well as this, I’ve been veggie for a while now, but I’m hoping that this year I can start using more vegan alternatives. Cheese is the main culprit – I love dairy free milks, but I haven’t quite ventured into cheese, ice cream, etc. If you have any other suggestions of how I could live more ethically, I’d love to hear them!

Save more + spend less – This one is pretty self explanatory. With getting our first flat in 2017, my spendings were quite high. I’m hoping in 2018 I can make my savings account look a bit more healthy!

Get a doggo – Okay, I know this is contradictory to the last goal. Dogs definitely aren’t cheap but… If you’ve read my last post, then you’ll know I’ve loved having more doggies in my life over the last year, but I really do miss having a dog of my own. I’m not sure if this goal is that realistic for 2018, but a girl can dream, right?

Improve my mental health – This is a pretty personal one, so I won’t say too much. I really struggled with my anxiety and depression in 2017. I’m hoping that in 2018 I can work towards improving my mental health. In all honesty, I’m not too sure how I’m going to do it, but I’ll definitely try!

Improve my blog – I’ve just confirmed my first ever sponsored post which is so exciting and definitely a proud moment for me. There’s still loads of room for improvement though. I want to post more regularly, at least once a week, and I’d also like to work on my photography. Lewis got me a new camera for Christmas (lucky me!). I’m still trying to get the hang of it, but I’m hoping in 2018 it will allow me to produce the best content possible.

So that’s my goals for 2018. What are yours? I’d love to know.

The sponsored post I mentioned will be up later this month, so please keep an eye out for that too!

  • I love these goals! They make total sense (well, except the dog one – haha!) and seem simple to accomplish. My brother always said, “Peace of Mind is Priceless” so that improving mental health goal is extremely important. Best wishes for a prosperous 2018!

If your having mental health issues this is a great time to educate yourself more on yourself. I struggle on a daily basis. Depression has been a life long problem for me and in my late 20’s anxiety hit me like a brick.

I wanted to improve on my confidence and procrastination on certain things.lol Also, it’s good to keep our sanity, like traveling it helps alot.

  • I like your practical list of goals. Especially, live ethically is a good one! I am a vegetarian but unable to be a vegan, have tired a few times but failed. All the very best to you and look forward to your blog posts in 2018.

  • Ada says:

Aww so exciting that you plan to get a dog. They’re the perfect companions.
